What is the best way to approach a job search?

Use job search engines such as: Monster.com, Careerbuilder.com, Craigslist.com, Snagajob.com, Indeed.com, Simplyhired.com, and/or Experience.com

Meet with local staffing agencies. Not only will it be good interview practice, but they may land you a temporary assignment to start building your resume, a temporary-to-permanent, or even a permanent full time job with one of their clients.

If I have limited professional work history, what can I be doing to build my resume?
Fill your resume with activities from each of the following categories:
- Academic – Join a club related to your course of study
- Community – Do volunteer work
- Physical – Play a sport or even join an intramural sport team for fun
- Social – Join a school club or interest group outside of school
- Work – Get a part time job (even working for yourself, if possible) using your basic skills to sell something or provide services to demonstrate work ethic and stability

How does one progress in their career and not just go from job to job?
- Work very hard in each of the positions that you hold.
- Prove your worth by making the organizations that you work for better.
- Add value by constantly submitting proposals for new ideas to your direct supervisor.

How should one tackle a job interview for a new job or promotion?
When interviewing, always prepare a portfolio with all of the projects/initiatives that you have done in the past to make you stand out from other job candidates. That way, employers can see what you have to offer and can make a more informed decision. -
