INTERN PROFILE
Alyssa was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. As an environmental studies major, she focused on sustainable resource management and policy. During her junior year, she spent a semester in Thailand studying the intersections of human rights, sustainable development, conservation, and natural resource management. She stayed an additional two months pursuing a summer research project in a small fishing village in southern Thailand, learning about its models of community mangrove management and coastal restoration. Her only disappointment was that she never saw a dugong.
Her other interests include geology, volleyball, surfing, and Murakami novels. She loves traveling and sampling local cuisines, and is particularly fond of Thai food.
She attended SFS Bhutan in 2010 and is excited to return this summer as an intern.
