During her sophomore to junior years, she was part of the Wilks Leadership Institute at Miami University in their “Building Sustainable communities" program, where she was able to work with professors, planners and governmental officers in making Oxford, Ohio a more sustainable community.
While at Miami, she also had the opportunity to research in Costa Rica on water resources and touristic development in the pacific coast of the country. During her junior year, she interned for Oxford, Ohio’s Farmer’s Market where learned about organics and the importance of local foods directly from the farmers. She studied abroad in Costa Rica with SFS and liked it so much that she decided to return as an Intern! She has a strong interest in sustainable development and natural resource management of tropical systems. "I am excited to go to Atenas again and join the SFS team!"
