STAFF PROFILE

Born and raised in Oklahoma, Lora has always fostered a sense of adventure for cultural experiences outside of her own. At the ripe age of 19, she took her first backpacking trip of Europe visiting the countries of Spain, France and Italy. One year later she found herself in the small French town of Clermont-Ferrand for her semester abroad where her travels also took her to other parts of France, The Netherlands, Belgium and the Czech Republic.

Though not always traveling internationally, Lora also joined several flora-based field studies in the course of achieving her Botany minor, a passion that has led to the adoption of far too many house plants! Throughout her career, Lora has been focused on broadening global awareness and has worked for several tour operators including EF Educational Tours where she worked in Program Coordination for the company’s custom international tours sector.

She never passes-up the opportunity to travel and has found her most significant travel experience to be her time in India and most notably a small Himalayan village – a true cultural 180. She brings this passion for the “global citizen” to SFS and hopes to continue to influence students to step outside their own culture and into another.
