Being an Intern at an SFS field center is a rewarding, but intense, experience. For many, this will be their first "real" work experience after college, and as SFS alumni already know, the field centers are anything but the typical office setting.


Volunteer Opportunities

Campus Representative Program
A Campus Representative is an alum who plays a role in SFS outreach efforts on their home campus. As a Campus Representative, you determine your level of involvement and the outreach activities you are interested in. 

In the past, Campus Representatives have contacted students who have inquired about SFS, hung SFS posters on their campus, hosted information sessions for interested students (a great venue for showing pictures from the field!), and helped out at study abroad fairs.  Some Campus Representatives also work closely with our Academic Liaisons, regional SFS representatives who recruit students and develop faculty relationships on local campuses. 

The Campus Representative program not only provides an opportunity to share your SFS experience with others but can also help you develop valuable professional skills in the areas of public speaking, advertising, advising, and event organizing. And don't worry if you've never done anything like this before - we'll provide the materials, training, support, and resources you need to help you succeed!  If you didn't sign-up at your Center and would like to be a Campus Representative, please contact our Alumni Relations Coordinator at alumni@fieldstudies.org.

Event Organizers
Our Headquarters are in Salem, MA and as a result many SFS alumni events take place in the Boston area. We are working on plans to organize other alumni events in other regions of the country but we need your help. If you would be interested in attending one of these events or helping to organize an event or reunion in your area, please let us know.
