| "When Lang arrived home he was exhausted from the trip but so exhilarated by his wonderful Kenyan experience. He was awed by the magnificent rawness and beauty of the countryside and full of admiration for the teaching staff and other students. It is so rare for a high school student to be able to experience a hands-on application of a subject heretofore only learned by book reading. It is also rare for such a student to be taught by such inspired teachers in the field. Consequently, Lang is very excited about possibly applying his interest in biology to the field of conservation and SFS gave him a real leg up on how that can be done. He continued to benefit from his SFS experience when he was interviewed in the college application process. He was on fire with his recent African experience and the interviewers were quite impressed. Lang was accepted to all the colleges to which he applied and has chosen Connecticut College for its strong environmental sciences program and african studies. SFS was clearly the beginning of an exhilirating life learning process. Thank you for allowing Lang, as a high school student, to participate in such a life-enhancing experience."
