Safety Program Coordinator Position Announcement The School for Field Studies Salem, Massachusetts The Safety Program Coordinator will oversee all aspects of risk management for the day to day programming at all School for Field Studies overseas programs. The Safety Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Safety and Risk Management Education. Duties to include: - Student screening and medical approval
- Serving as primary contact between HQ and Student Affairs Managers
- Development and oversight of Center Safety Plans
- Collection and evaluation of all Incident Reports
- Sharing responsibility for 24/7 on call coverage during program operations
- Emergency/crisis response
- Day to day information acquisition, knowledge management and communication
- Servicing of all SFS risk management systems and documents
- Participation in delivery of Risk Management Education trainings
Required Qualifications - BA/BS in related field
- Significant international experience living or working abroad
- Significant group facilitation experience
- High emotional and cross cultural IQ
- Risk management/crisis management experience
- Emergency medicine background (WFR/EMT or above)
- Technology competent
Preferred Qualifications - International aid or emergency coordinator experience
- MA/MS in related field
- SCUBA diving expertise
- Travel/tropical medicine expertise
- Wilderness trip leading experience
- Instructor in wilderness medicine
- Student Affairs experience in higher education
- Database/statistical analysis expertise
- Spanish language fluency
- Sea Kayaking expertise
