Risk Management for Faculty Leading Short Term Programs (1 day) – With Natalie Mello
This training will approach risk management from the faculty leader perspective. We will present a framework for figuring out what you need to know and provide the map for finding out. We will also provide tools for preventing incidents from occurring and responding to them when they do.

Curriculum to include:

  • Navigating Risk for Leaders of Education Abroad Excursions
  • The Role of Faculty When Leading Education Abroad Excursions
  • Managing Stakeholder Expectations of Faculty
  • Making Meetings Work
  • Working with Students and Managing “Misbehavior”
  • Resources for Leading Trips
  • Responding to Emergencies in the Field

Program will include formal presentations, case studies, scenarios and much discussion. All participants will receive a Facilitating Student Groups/Managing “Misbehavior”.
