| Working with Students/Managing Behavior (1 day) Student psychological/emotional states and student "misbehavior" are two issues that study abroad programs are obliged to respond to with ever greater frequency. Facilitating student groups effectively before and early on in a program, can often reduce the need to respond to issues later on. This one day training will look at who our students are, behavioral and psychological issues common to study abroad programs, and a range of strategies for preventing and responding to student issues in international settings. Curriculum to include: Millennials and Nexters: Who Our Students Are The Safety Matrix: Mapping Strategy Facilitation of student groups Engineering, Legislation and Education: Strategies for Managing Behavior Defining "Misbehavior" Psychotropic Medications: What You Need to Know Common Mental Health Issues Responding to Student Emergencies
