B.A., English and Biology (African Studies), Mount Holyoke College M.A.T., Mount Holyoke College Noelle is the Safety Coordinator at The School for Field Studies (SFS). She has spent nearly 20 years with Outward Bound (OB) as an instructor/staff trainer with a focus on youth, special populations and school-based programming. She has led international expeditions and safety reviews in addition to serving for many years as a program and safety director at Thompson Island OB in Boston Harbor. Most recently, Noelle has served as Coordinator for the Outward Bound World Resource Project, a complex, international wiki project involving knowledge management between OB schools from 40 different countries. Noelle has developed wikis for a number of non-profit organizations, delivered wiki/social media trainings around the world and is currently developing a risk management wiki for SFS. Prior to her Outward Bound work, Noelle was an environmental educator, teaching and developing youth & family programs for a number of non-profits including Massachusetts Audubon, Nature’s Classroom, the Bronx Zoo, Wohelo Camp for Girls, The Carroll School, The White Oak School and Sebago Lake State Park. Noelle holds a BA. in English and Biology with a focus on African studies plus an M.A.T. in Education from Mount Holyoke College. Noelle is also an SFS alumna. She credits the SFS Kenya semester program in 1986 for changing her life and serving as the catalyst for her environmental and adventure-based education career.  |  |
