Global Sustainability: Central America to Maine
August 3, 2010

The School for Field Studies continues the premiere of its new film, created by Rob Holmes Kenya '90 and his Green Living Project (GLP), on Thursday, August 26, 2010 in Denver, Colorado. Rob and his team spent several days at our field station in Costa Rica last February documenting our program, community projects, and reflections on the SFS experience by various players including students, staff, and alumni.

This exciting multi-media event will be held at The Tattered Cover Bookstore. It will showcase The SFS Center for Sustainable Development Studies but also other cutting-edge sustainability projects across Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama. Experience Green Living Project's expedition through Central America and witness the latest efforts in marine conservation, adventure eco-lodges, voluntourism, urban sustainable tourism, indigenous communities, renewable energy, education, sustainable forestry, and more! Come learn about responsible adventure travel, sustainable living, and how you can get directly involved with these exciting projects. As a special feature, the GLP team will encore sustainability projects across Maine, including Maine Huts & Trails' new hut-to-hut system, and Chewonki's famous wilderness and sustainability education programs!
