Our field station in Mexico is available for your use Join SFS in Mexico, where we are studying one of the largest remaining intact coastal wetland/lagoon systems along the Pacific coast of the Americas. Our work in Bahia Magdalena is concerned with endangered sea turtle populations, Gray whales, water pollution and over-fishing, among other topics. Students will enjoy interviewing whale-watching tourists, identifying turtle species or helping educate local schoolchildren about the natural resources of the area. Researchers may have the opportunity to collaborate with our faculty, who are experts on coastal ecology and marine mammals.
